September 1 - Bookmaker.com has announced the launch of their new handicapping contests, which is sure to be very popular this football season.

Bookmaker

bookmaker.com

Bookmaker.com will be running several contests each day. Contest take on the form of pools where multiple players enter the contest, and the entry fees are pooled together to make up the prizes. The total prize pool per contest is the entry fee times the number of entered players. For example:

$50 Entry Fee x 50 Players = $2,500 prize pool.

Each contest will have a specific payout structure, typically as follows:

1st - 50%
2nd - 25%
3rd - 10%
4th - 5%

The sports contests are based on Money Line wagers for each game where players must select the outright winner of games without regard to the spread. Each contest consist of a defined number of games. For example, a contest may be defined to last for a specific period, and will include all of the NFL games scheduled for that period. So say for example there are fourteen games in a given contest. the contest could have one of two types of wagering:

Fixed Wagering:

In this example - each player will be able to make 14 $100 wagers. So players would make a wager on every game.

Variable Wagering:

In this example - each player will will have $1,400 to wager. Each wager can be either $100, $150, or $200. In this 14 game contest - a player would have to play a minimum of 7 games (7 X $200 maximum per game wager). In this format, player can weight the games according to their own handicapping. The MoneyLine is expressed in relation to a $100 Wager. A line of +175 will result in profit of $175 on a $100 wager and a winning selection would add $275 to the players bankroll.. A line of -125 will result in a profit of $80 on a $100 wager. The player with the highest finishing bankroll wins the 1st place payout. The player with the 2nd highest finishing bankroll wins the 2 place payout, and so on. Ties will split applicable percentages of the pool. Each contest may have specific payout rules.

Contests are sure to add a lot of excitement to wagering, and the great things is that they stretch your bank roll that much further in terms of entertainment value.
