2006/07 Record: 8-8.
2006/07 Verdict: Tiki Barber wanted to go out on top, and he was largely responsible for the fact that the offense finished ranked 14th. Eli Manning was largely responsible for why it didn't finish any higher. Manning really struggles when the weather cools down and so the Giants went 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games. Manning is a downfield passer and the swirling icy winds tend to play havoc with that style of passing. This won't change anytime soon. There was plenty of evidence that players were also at breaking point with Tom Coughlin's authoritarian antics. The biggest problem for this team was a porous defense that allowed 350 yards + in all five of their December games - when bad weather is supposed to help the D. All in all the signs point to more trouble ahead.
2007/08 Mycapper.com Prediction: DOWN
There are a lot of problems with this team. The head coach is despised and may well have lost the ability to motivate his team or get them to listen to him. Their quarterback is ineffective in cold weather, the defense is awful, and oh yes their best player is now a TV personality. The Giants are primed to finish below .500 this year and that could spell the end for both Coughlin and Manning's tenures here.
