2007/08 Verdict:

The Jets are due for a surprisingly good season based on their roller-coaster results over the past three seasons. 4-12 followed by 10-6 and the playoffs followed by 4-12 again. The 07/08 team was overrated by handicappers and by the oddsmakers alike early on as they managed to cover only 1 of their first 8 games. At that point everyone realized that this was a dog of a team and the big spreads they saw from then on made them pretty good betting value as they closed out the season on a 5-3 ATS run. Two of those losses were sustained at home where small lines hurt them.

2008/09 Mycapper.com NFL Betting Prediction: IMPROVING

We thought the Jets would get better before the big trade for a washed-up QB from Green Bay, and even though we're not a big fan of this move, we'll still stick with the prediction that this team will win more than 6 games ATS. The schedule is certainly soft with easy home games against non-conference opponents and a road schedule that might even provide two or three straight-up victories. They're not going to the Super Bowl any time soon but beware of playing against this team when they're underdogs of +3.5 or more.
