The first game is at 12:30 EST when the Detroit Lions, who always play on Thanksgiving along with the Cowboys, host the high-flying Green Bay Packers. The Lions have playoff aspirations while the Packers are one of the best teams in the NFC. The line for the game opened with the Packers favored on the road by 3.5 points, but at +100. Some sportsbooks have gone -3 on the Packers at -110. It might only look like half a point to the untrained eye, but that is a key number and could prove all the difference between a push and a loss.
The second game kicks off at 4:15 PM EST and the lowly Jets have a huge task on their hands as they travel to Dallas to take on 'America's Team'. The Cowboys were immediately installed as 2 TD favorites, and have found even more betting support to trade currently at -14.5 points and some 'books even have them at -15 points. That's a lot of points to cover, but they do look hard to oppose here.
There is a third Thanksgiving football game to bet on this year, so we're already feeling thankful and the turkey isn't even in front of us yet! At 8:15 PM EST the defending Super Bowl champs, the Indianapolis Colts will try to cover the spread against the Atlanta Falcons, a team that has predictably struggled all year long. The Colts are on the road but heavily favored by double-digits. The latest line is Indy -12 points.
