NFL Football Betting - Week 11 Preview - 11-14-08

November 14 - There are no byes in week 11 of the NFL so it's a busy week. The standout games are two divisional matchups with would-be-contenders going up against one another.

In the NFC East the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins face off in what has to be a cracker. Both both teams are coming off their bye, and Dallas needed the time off to gather themselves fro ma horror run. The will be buoyed by the rerun of their injured stars: Tony Romo, Jason Witten, and Terrence Newman, who are all expected to take the field on Sunday. Without Romo the Dallas offence has been poor and TO will be hoping that he has more that just air to clutch at.

The Redskins aren't free of injuries. Running back Clinton Portis picked up a knee injury against Pittsburgh and looks an unlikely starter. This could see former MVP Shaun Alexander start against Dallas. Dallas is a 1.5-point road favorite at Sportsbook.com.

In the NFC North , Green Bay hosts Chicago in a game that will determine who leads the division. The Bears are tied at 5-4 with Minnesota, with Green Bay two games down after losing their last two. including to Minnesota 28-27 last week. Aaron Rodgers is expected to play, but his sprained shoulder remains a concern.

The Bears are likely have Kyle Orton back at quarterback after their offense stuttered under Rex Grossman in the 21-14 loss to Tennessee 21-14. The Packers are a 3.5 point favorite at Sportsbook.com.

The top AFC matchup of the week has San Diego as the underdog against Pittsburgh.

The Chargers managed to scrape a win last week, even though they were a 15 point favorite over Kansas City. The Steelers are coming off a narrow loss to Indianapolis, with Ben Roethlisberger starting under an injury cloud, but word is that he will take the field this weekend. The Steelers are a 5.5-point home favorite in this one.
