January 15 - Leisure And Gaming (LNG), the company that owns VIP, Nine
and English Harbour brands of online sports betting, online casino and online
poker sites, have announced that they have avoided any major setbacks in the
awake of a series of winning favourites during the regular NFL season...
The group issued a statement that they have seen margins return to normal
levels in the past week.
The group also reported that the acquisition of
Nine.com and
English Harbour
had "allowed overall expectations to be met". They also said that LNG's forecast
for pre-tax profits of US$7.1m was well within their forecast.
The group had expressed concerns over US sportsbook margins, pointing out
that adverse NFL results had hit the US sportsbooks for two years running.
The group also added that it was optimistic about 2006 and that this year
will see full contributions from the acquisitions made last year, and that
trading has been strong since the start of the year.
