The UFC announced recently that the 35-year-old bruiser would be a contestant in
the tenth season of their "The Ultimate Fighter" reality show.
Slice made a name for himself in South Florida backyard brawls, and a Youtube
video of him beating up on some poor sod attracted thousands of hits. He started
his pro career on the Elite XC which has since gone out of business. He won his
first three fights but got knocked out by Seth Petruzelli last October.
After the knockout, speculation was that Kimbo was unlikely to ever have
another pro fight.
That was until the UFC threw him a life line . UFC President Dana White not
one to shy away from an opportunity, invited Slice to the UFC house.
White has made fun of Slice before, but recognizes the potential he brings in
TV ratings.
"No matter what you think of Kimbo as a fighter, he's one of those people you
just have to watch," said Sportsbook.com spokes person Dave Staley.
