The Blue Grass at Keeneland has historically been one of the main warm up races for the Derby and this year figures to be no different with the antepost favorite for the first leg of the triple crown in the lineup. Street Sense tops the board for the third and final Kentucky Derby Future Wager Betting Pool. He is 5/1.
But Street Sense won't have things his own way this Saturday. Great Hunter (10/1 for the Derby) is also running in the Blue Grass as is Zanjero, Teuflesberg, and Dominican. All five horses are currently being aimed at the Kentucky Derby.
The favorite for the Arkansas Derby is the lightly raced and still undefeated colt Curlin, who is 12-1 on the latest morning line for the Kentucky Derby. The race in Arkansas at Oaklawn used to be a backwater race that wasn't taken too seriously but in recent years that has all changed. Smarty Jones flew home there and several other top-class racehorses prepped there before entering the triple crown fray.
