May 11 - Many industry observers predicted that this year will see further consolidation in the online casino and gambling industry. In line with these predictions, Microgaming has announced that it is to consolidate its Poker and Progressive jackpot networks under a single brand....

The Prima Poker network will from now be known as the "Microgaming Poker Network" and the Jackpot Madness progressive jackpot network as the "Microgaming Progressive Network." All licensed casino and poker rooms will carry the  'Powered by Microgaming' seal.

The two existing brands will be phased out over the coming months, and the existing Prima Poker and Jackpot Madness websites will be integrated under the Microgaming.com site.

Microgaming is making the move to strengthen the brand in a market that is seeing increased competition. Part of the rationale is that the Microgaming Seal will give players confidence in a licensee.

Roger Raatgever, Microgaming's CEO says: "Microgaming has been an industry leader for over ten years, and the separate brands have all done well in their own right. Microgaming has provided entertainment to millions of people all over the world. We believe that consolidating the brand is important in terms of our next growth stage."
