July 10 - The school and community
center is reported to have become self sustaining, which has prompted Slotland
to conclude its funding. he online casino site has provided more than $100,000
towards building as well as teacher and staff training.
The village of Juma in Malawi is one of the poorest regions in the country,
and the aid project has assisted the community to work towards becoming
self-sufficient. The Project Team has also built a maize mill to help the
community in generating ongoing revenue.
The work of the project team is however not finished and they are involved in
establishing teacher training programmers for the whole region.
"We've learned that self-initiated projects are most likely to succeed," said
the Project Team Leader, David Leflar. "Where there's a will, we will help them
find a way!"
Slotland successfully attracted funding from other industry parties, and here
at Online Gambling Insider we felt like we had support the initiative which lead
us to run a charity challenge. Many affiliates have since made donations, some
very sizeable.
