February 18 - Playtech has announced that it will list on the London
Stock Exchange. Speculation started in September 2005 that the online casino,
online bingo and online poker software provider will go public and it
has confirmed that US$300m (£175m) worth of shares will be placed with
institutions..
This values Playtech at a market cap of about US$950m. A company spokes
person said that Playtech will be meeting with institutions in London this week.
Play tech's rationale for listing is to raise its profile and provide a basis
for further growth. Playtech was founded in 1999. The company develops and
licenses casino, bingo and poker software, and currently supports 37 customers,
among them some of the latest casinos online, like
GoldenPalace.com,
BetWWTS and
Casino Las Vegas.
Playtech reports a 300% increase in 2005 revenues to US$47.6m.
