Online Casinos Expect Reinstatement of eCOGRA Seals - 02-27-08

February 27 - For only the second time in its history, the player protection body eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) suspended their accreditation of six of its online gambling sites. The Australian based Casino Action lost its Seals due to non-compliance, but say that they expect them to be reinstated soon.

A Casino Action spokes person said in various message boards posts over the last week that the suspension was due to "purely administrative issues that will be resolved shortly".

eCOGRA on the other hands said that it had deiced to suspend the Seals following a routine on-site review of Casino Action's operations. eCOGRA reported that the group failed to comply with "Generally Accepted Principles".

The affected casinos are: Challenge Casino, Golden Reef Casino, iBigCasino.com, Music Hall Casino, Nostalgia Casino and UK Casino Club. These can no longer display the eCOGRA Safe and Fair seal, on their websites until the suspension is lifted pending another investigation by the eCOGRA Compliance Team (see our Casino Action Group Review).

In one message board post a group rep said that 'We had delayed posting as we thought this would have been resolved in 24 hours but as I am sure most of you know these kind of things tend to take longer than you would expect.' In another post they said: ' In no way has our honesty, integrity or customer service been questioned and our reputation speaks for itself. We are expecting our eCOGRA seals will be reinstated very soon but in the meantime it is business as usual.'
