Companies that fulfill the criteria set forth by the new legislation,
including big hitters such as Betfair, Party Poker, Full Tilt Poker and Poker
Stars are all reportedly busy either producing new ads, ort about to already
float ads that were ready to be aired. Others like gambling giant Ladbrokes have
apparently placed their TV ad campaign on hold until October.
One broadcasting source commented that there has been a lot of interest from
the gambling companies for ad space in September, and that their expectations
were that the level of interest will really surge for placement of ads in
October and onwards.
The new advertising laws were not only good news for gambling companies, but
also television companies who are expecting a 9% increase in advertising
revenue.
This will certainly help towards achieving expected UK television ad revenue
of £3.35bn.in 2007.
