April 17 - Bodog.com is not where it is today for being soft. The case
brought against it by Reality TV production company Bluemoon, was apparently
thrown out of court so one would expect that this was the last we'd hear of it.
Not with Bodog though....
An industry news service reports that CEO Calvin Ayre is not taking kindly to
Bluemoon's actions. "We are actually not through with them (BlueMoon
Entertainment ) yet," he was reported to say. "I am going to make an example of
these people to show what happens when you frivolously sue me."
Calvin Ayre said that this is a classic case of people starting to sue you,
once you reach a certain size.
He admitted that Bluemoon submitted a proposal to Bodog a year ago, and that
it involved poker and Calvin Ayre himself. According to Ayre, those are the only
similarities to the eventual show, and that as the show is much about his life:
"How the hell can they tell me what's going on in my life?"
Ayre also said that he can't even remember who from Bluemoon spoke to him.
The first episode of Bodog's new show, "Wild Card Poker" appears on Fox
Sports TV this week.
