Online Gambling Giant To Sponsor Four Preakness Jockeys - 05-20-06

May 20 - Hot on the heels of the launch of its revolutionary horse racing software, and its sponsorship of  the Brother Derek team at the Kentucky Derby, online gaming giant Bodog.com today has announced that it has entered into partnership with four of Saturday's Preakness Stakes jockeys ....

This marks another first for Bodog.com, as the site is now the first ever online gaming site to sponsor four jockeys in a triple crown event.

Bodog.com has teamed with Ramon Dominguez (DIABOLICAL), Kent Desormeaux (SWEETNORTHERNSAINT), Garrett Gomez (LIKE NOW) and Jeremy Rose (HEMINGWAY'S KEY). Each of the jockeys will be wearing Bodog.com-branded gear as they race.

"The Preakness Stakes has served as a test of a champion. Lots can happen, any horse can wín, so the stakes are high and it's a reason why people are interested in betting on the race," says Calvin Ayre, Bodog.com Founder and CEO.

After witnessing a record day of wagering on the Kentucky Derby, the Bodog.com Racebook is preparing for another wave of bets as the Preakness nears and the excitement surrounding Barbaro builds.

No undefeated Kentucky Derby winner has ever lost the Preakness Stakes. Barbaro, who is listed as an even-money favorite by the Bodog.com Racebook, will seek to extend that streak to seven at Pimlico.

At Churchill Downs, Barbaro beat 17 horses with ease to improve to 6-0. Only eight stand in his way as he aims to capture the second leg of horse-racing's Triple Crown in Baltimore. The smallest field since 2000 also includes only two other entrants - Brother Derek and Sweetnorthernsaint - who ran in the Derby on May 6.

Along with odds on the race, Bodog.com is also offering a variety of proposition wagers, which include whether Barbaro indeed will become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978. A $100 "yes" wager will earn a payoff of $185 if Barbaro wins the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes on June 10.
