Online Gambling Odds For 2007 Academy Awards - 02-25-07
February 25 - The 2007 Oscars will be handed out later tonight and thanks to the online sportsbook at Bodog.com you can bet on the winners of all the major Academy Award categories. We have the latest odds as well as our sure-fire picks.

A lot of the categories would appear to be one-horse races with Forest Whitaker (1/11) and Helen Mirren (1/30!) huge favorites to scoop the Best Actor and Actress Oscar respectively.
We would not advise betting against either one of them as they seem primed to win Academy Awards tonight. The academy loves serious actors like Forest who make films not movies, while Mirren's likeness of the Queen made her a shoo-in before she'd even uttered a line.
The most interesting category from a betting perspective has to be the genuine race for Best Film of the year. The Departed is the current market leader but Little Miss Sunshine has attracted a lot of betting support as well. It would be a surprise if any other film won, although Babel is also quoted at short odds.
Our forecast is that Scorcese finally wins an Academy Award for Best Director but that his film is snubbed, and rightly so, for the main award. It was a shambolic screenplay and a passable thriller at best, so why not give the award to a more interesting movie - our vote is for Little Miss Sunshine.
