Online Gambling Phishing Exposed By Club World Casinos -02-02-09

February 2 - Steve Morgan, Casino Manager at Club World, has warned players not to respond to an email asking them to verify their personal details. The practice, widely known as "phishing" is designed to try and unlawfully obtain personal details while pretending to be a trusted party.

Players will be able to identify the email as it is sent from a mail.com account and not from cwcasinos.com or any of their casino brands. The email goes further than just asking for personal details, it actually asks players to re-register at a fake online casino called " King Dice Casino". The emails were signed by a "Susan Harrison".

The phishing email contained a link - DO NOT FOLLOW ANY LINKS if you receive a similar email.

To the credit of CWC Casinos, they responded very quickly to the hoax. Click here to read our review if the REAL Club USA Casino (USA players all welcome).

In other news, online casinos operating on the Rival Gaming Casino platform all made announcements during he course of last week that as of February 1, they would no longer accept new Canadian real money players.

The move seems to come as a result of Rival being a Canadian company, and their shareholders requesting that Canadians be excluded. Most operators have indicated that Canadian players will have until February 28 to withdraw funds, or risk losing the money.

Supposedly, Rival has received requests from their backers that they stop doing business with Canadian players. Rival, in turn, has agreed to these requests and has passed them on to the casinos they power.

Te good news is that all Rival Casinos will continue to accept US players.
