Online Gambling Site Posts Person Of The Year Odds - 12-06-06

December 6 - Online gambling site Sportsbook.com has posted odds on the coveted Time Magazine "Person of the Year" award and Google Chairman and CEO, Eric Schmidt currently heads the odds in an interesting market...

As usual, online sports betting site Sportsbook.com is the first to post odds, this time on who will grace the cover of the 79th issue of Time Magazine, set to hit the newsstands on Christmas day. Bill Gates is the reigning Person of the Year.

Schmidt, the head man at the Googleplex who is estimated to be worth a cool $5.2 Billion is Eric Schmidt, is the outright favorite at 9-2 odds. Former Vice President Al Gore is the next to favorite at 5-1 odds, with CEO of Apple computers, Steve Jobs, at 7-1 odds.

Gore recently stepped to the fore as an environmentalist, and with global warming taking up news headlines all over the world, it is of little surprise that he is on of the frontrunners.

Some of the mosre controversial names making the list include some of the more "notorious" world leaders like North Korea's Kim Jong-II, Hamas' Sheikh Hasan Nasrallah, and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Ahmadinejad comes in as a 20-1 long shot, while Jong-II and Nasrallah are at a respectable 10-1 odds.
