June 14 - Seasoned online gambling purveyors may well view this headline with incredulous eyes, and it does have to be taken with a tiny pinch of salt, but PayPal who rather famously severed ties with Internet gambling operations ages ago will now make an exception for online lottery ticket purchases.

If you get an itch to take a pure gamble on the next big Mega Millions drawing or decide to buy online Powerball tickets, that purchase can now be funded via your PayPal account.
If the US government can carve out an exception for intra-state lotteries while banning poker and sports betting as wagers of chance (when clearly there is an element of skill involved in those pursuits) then PayPal can surely suspend their collective faculty of logic and allow lottery ticket purchases as well.
Hopefully EBay won't mind, since it was their stipulation that PayPal cease doing business with online gambling businesses as a condition that had to be met before they were willing to buy the payment processing firm.
Please note that we're all for playing Lotteries around the world, and think it's cool that you can now do so online - why not gamble on hitting it so big that you'll never have to work again?
The point we're attempting to make with tongue firmly in cheek is that surely people should be allowed to move their money the way they see fit? And if they want to have a little fun and excitement and gamble online they should damn well be allowed to do just that, regardless of where they live, even if it is an undemocratic tyranny run by Neo-Conservative Evangelical Mullahs!
