September 25 - Hundreds of players at
Full Tilt Poker got a big surprise
when the poker room out of the blue credited money to their account. There
has been a storm brewing at Full Tilt over poker bots and the site has decided
to refund players who lost hands to bots.

These poker bots allegedly were active on Full Tilt Limit Hold'em cash tables and possibly
even on some no limit tables (although the latter is as yet unconfirmed).
It is also rumored that Full Tilt has frozen numerous accounts associated
with the bots.
Bots are essentially; software that play hands purely based on math and
position. They have advantages and disadvantages over humans in that they may
fold in situations where a read might have resulted in a call and visa versa.
They will also tend to play the same hand in the same way every time it is
dealt.
Bots have no doubt been around for ages but it is nearly impossible to catch
them.
Full Tilt advised the affected players via email messages. The names of
accounts involved have been bandied about on forums but the poker room has not
confirmed anything.
Thumbs up to Full Tilt for not only catching the scum but coming totally
clean and refunding players.
