Q    :    I played a slot game with an advertised payout percentage of 98% but lost all of my money. How can the casino say the game pays out 98% when I get these results?... this is a biggie...

A    :    The payout percentages advertised DO NOT relate to A SINGLE game session, but rather to thousands of game sessions... So... Some players will get much less on the one hand, whilst some players will get much more on the other. On average, over time the game will pay out 98%.  Slots could not, in any way, be fun to play, if a player played $100 and got exactly $98 out. LUCK is the MAIN FACTOR in slots - whilst one player may lose his entire bankroll, another may double / triple / JACKPOT his! LUCK!

There is a way though, to move the odds slightly in the players' favour, to attempt to make the Payout Percentages Work for you.  Slot games are not games of skill, like Blackjack or Poker, BUT there are a couple of well known facts that can lead you to the best paying machines.

To cut a long story short... the higher the coin denomination played, the better the payout percentage will be.  Simple.

It is also easy to see why the Casinos set their slots in this way - the therefore need to keep a much smaller percentage of a $5 or $1 bet to make money, than on a quarter or nickel machine, where players will always have the lowest payout percentages.  We therefore always urge players to play the highest denomination game they can afford.
