November 10 - Although the New England Patriots and their rivals the New York Jets are
currently tied at the top of the AFC East division on 5-3 (alongside the Buffalo
Bills), they have both had their fair share of ups and downs this season. For instance, about a month ago the Jets suffered three straight defeats, but
have since bounced back. The Patriots, meanwhile, are coming off two straight
losses, and risk a third against the Jets on Sunday at New Meadowlands in New
Jersey.
No doubt this is one of the reasons why NFL oddsmakers, including those at
premier internet sports betting site betonline, have laid the New York Jets
as the -2 point favorites (O/U 37) ahead of this weekend's NFL matchup.

New England Patriots Are Facing a Slump
The fact the Patriot's offense is ranked second in the league with 437.3 yards
per game has not prevented them from slumping of late. In fact, they've failed
to rack up more than 20 points in any of their last three games. Plus, they went
down hard 24-20 to the Giants last week at home, and the week before only made
213 yards against the Steelers. The point is that the Patriots are not playing up to their usually high
standard, and must obviously change that on Sunday, before their slump really
takes hold. Consider that New England haven't had a season when they didn't win
at least 10 games since 2002, and they will be eager not to repeat that this
season.
Although they are not be firing on all cylinders, the Patriots have all the
components of a Super Bowl-winning team, they just need to pull them all
together. For instance, QB Tom Brady needs to increase his focus as he is
throwing far too many interceptions this season, and the team's defense needs to
tighten up, especially against the Jets on Sunday.
New York Jets Are Comeback Kids
Everyone in America loves a 'comeback kid,' and right now that kid is the New
York Jets, after they recovered from a three-game losing streak last month. At
the time of the slump, many Jets fans saw the team's playoff hopes go up in
smoke, but Jets head coach Rex Ryan had other ideas. Although the Jets allowed
more than 30 points combined in those three losses, Ryan kicked the team back
into shape, and they have been on fire since. Some of the credit for the Jets
turnaround has to go to RB Shonn Greene and co, who are now averaging a
none-too-shabby 130.7 yards on the ground, compared to just 76.2 during their
losing streak.
With both sides of the Jets' game in pretty good shape, they'll likely be
tough opponents on Sunday, and the Patriots will have to step it up some if they
want to prevent racking up their first three-game losing streak in almost a
decade.
Patriots Jets Prediction
Sunday's Patriots Jets matchup will be tough any way you cut it. Despite
their two recent losses, the Patriots are not a team to rollover, while the Jets
will be do anything to protect and maintain their winning streak. Which is why
we predict the home team will keep the visitors at bay come Sunday.
