July 7 - Three cheers for unheralded Jeff Cabanillas, who thankfully defeated Phil Hellmuth Jr. in heads-up battle last night to prevent Hellmuth from winning his 10th World Series Of Poker title...

Hellmuth, who endorses Ultimate
Bet, was oh so close to tying the record for WSOP bracelets, a record jointly held by Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan.
Cabanillas won the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em event, the bracelet, and the small matter of $818,546 in cash. Hellmuth, the one-time poker brat whose obnoxious attitude at the table has made him infamous, won a little over $423,000 for his efforts.
Field sizes at the 2006 World Series Of Poker have been the largest ever, and consequently poker players are competing for more money than ever before. The $10,000 buy-in Main Event is expected to attract well over 8,000 players this year, and the first prize could be as high as $13 million.
You can qualify for the WSOP online right now, and maybe you'll have the chance to beat Phil Hellmuth as well - that would make everyone's day!
