Playtech Purchases New Software Platform - 08-21-08

August 21 -A new deal signed between the Isle of Man based software provider, Playtech and Win Gaming Media Incorporated assures that Playtech remains with an extra strong foothold in the live gaming industry.

According to the terms of the new deal, Playtech paid Win Gaming Media $1.75 million for the purchase of its subsidiary company, MixTV.

MixTV provides end to end technology to multi player live gaming applications over live interactive television shows on the internet, as well as via satellite, and this purchase is seen as a particularly important one for Playtech as it seeks to expand its product portfolio.

The Chief Executive Officer for Playtech, Mor Weizer said about the new deal: "As the leading software provider to the online gaming industry, the acquisition of MixTV mass multiplayer live gaming solutions enables us to further extend our products portfolio, making our products available on all forms of interactive media."

"We are excited about the potential this presents for further enriching our range of platforms and the new cross-selling opportunities the live gaming products create for our existing and potential new licensees. We are looking to continue realizing our vision of enriching our products offering through new best in class innovative products."

The features in MixTV's product allows advanced user experience and quality streaming products that can be accessed through TV or internet to a mass audience.

The new deal with Win Gaming Media Incorporated also includes a license and service clause that would give Playtech greater exposure via companies such as Virgin Media TV.
