July 23 - The percentage of poker players that gamble for
real money on other forms of online gambling has more than doubled over the last
two years according to new independent research.
The research was
performed by Poker Players Research (PPR), and shows that 42% of the 20 million online real money poker
players now partake in other forms of online gambling, compared to 20% two years ago.

The PPR also reports most of this growth is coming from outside of the United States, where growth appears to have stalled, which
is believed to have been a result of the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act.
In fact, 55% more online poker
players outside of the United States now engage in other forms of online
gambling. Growth appears to be strongest in France, Germany and Scandinavia.
Most of the growth is in sports betting, which is now
performed by 28% of poker players, and 10% of these are betting at least
weekly. Blackjack is the second most popular, now played by 27% of poker
players.
PPR apparently are looking to
expand their research to other online gambling verticals this year.
