"Because there are so many different regulations around the world concerning
online gambling we have decided to not wallow gambling on Second Life," a spokes
person said.
Second Life commented that it will continue to review gambling policies from
around the world and it seems to accept that online gambling is an evolving
market.
Second Life will monitor this new policy and will suspend the accounts of any
users who are in violation, as they do with other illegal activities. Online
gambling being illegal or not is still quite vague.
Second Life is a virtual world developed by Linden Lab. Users download the
program and become residents of the world, interacting with other residents and
engaging in trade and the provision and usage of services.
There were many virtual casinos on Second Life that have all been shut down.
