Steelers Browns Points Spread Update for NFL Betting - 12-10-09
December 10 - There is an AFC North game on Thursday night that means a lot to the defending Super Bowl champions, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and almost nothing to one of the worst teams in pro football, the Cleveland Browns.
The NFL spread for this game opened with the Steelers favored by 9 points. That line has now moved out to -10 points, and at some offshore books the number is now -11 points. That means it is beyond the key number of 10 points as a flood of money has come for Pittsburgh to cover the spread.
There has also been a lot of line movement in terms of betting on the Over/Under. The total opened at 38 points but has come down markedly to 33.5 points at a lot of sports books. This is due to the offensive ineptness of the home team as well as predictions of bad weather sweeping through Ohio.
The game is a must-win for the Steelers who have now slipped to 6-6 on the season and are struggling for a wild-card slot. The Browns have endured a miserable season, and seem unlikely to have any chance of winning this game straight up.
Our advice is to take the Steelers and the Under, but we wouldn't go out on a limb with this one.
