Steelers vs Titans Kicks Off 09 NFL Betting Season - 09-07-09
September 7 - On Thursday the NFL regular season kicks off when the champs from 08, the Pittsburgh Steelers, take on one of the best teams from last year, the Tennessee Titans, who shocked everyone by reeling off a dozen wins in a row a season ago.

Although the Steelers are at home and favored in the betting lines this is in fact a revenge game for Pittsburgh as the last time these teams met they were crushed by the Titans. The game was played down south on December 21 last season and the Titans won 31-14 even though they were outgained by the Steelers in terms of overall yardage.
The line for the game opened at Steelers -5.5 points and the majority of the early betting support has been for the home team. The line has currently shifted slightly to -6 points.
The Over/Under for total points scored by both teams opened very low at only 35 points and is still trading at that shrunken number.
The Steelers look strong again this season. They return 19 of 22 starters from the team that captured the franchise's sixth Super Bowl last year, but they also have Rashard Mendenhall, a top draft pick who was injured in 20008, back to provide an extra dimension to an already formidable running game.
The Titans disappointed in the postseason playoffs after looking like possible Super Bowl material themselves in the first 12 weeks of last season. They might struggle to recapture that level of form this year, and a road game in Pittsburgh should answer the questions surrounding this team.
