Stephen Colbert Runs For President And Latest US Election Odds - 11-26-07

November 26 - Bodog is taking bets on the presidential election. Funny man Stephen Colbert officially announced that he was running for office and was listed at 600-1. Against most expectation he actually managed to get a ballot to run for a Republican primary, which saw his odds "slashed" to 225-1. God help us.

The announcement came this week on his show, "The Colbert Report", where he said: "After nearly 15 minutes of soul-searching, I have heard the call," Colbert said. "I shall seek the office of the president of the United States!"

He plans to run in his home state of South Carolina, as both a Democrat and Republican, explaining that he can "lose twice."

"If Stephen fulfills the requirements met in our delegates' election plan and he actively campaigns in South Carolina, we welcome him to compete," executive director of the South Carolina Democratic Party, Joe Werner said.

On a more sane note, Hillary Clinton is still the outright favorite at 3/2 and Barack Obama at 9/2.

Ron Paul's, a supporter of legalizing and regulating online gambling, has seen his odds reduce from 25 to 1now to 8/1.
