We lost faith in the Tennessee Titans last season and in our Titans betting preview for 2007 we suggested that they wouldn't be able to win more than 8 games. They won 10 thanks to brilliant coaching and three big wins to end the regular season. Their ATS form is very inconsistent but they dominate against other division teams going 5-1 against the spread last season.

The Titans managed to win a lot of close games last season but this year might finally spell the end of their surprising performances. They've been surprising because the offense is pretty average, the defense was gritty without turning heads, and they play in a very tough division. This year the running game looks suspect, they've lost a lot of good defensive players to free agency, and the schedule is as tough as usual. The first game at home to the highly-touted Jaguars should set the tone. If they win this one (like they did at the Jaguars to start last year) then they could be a team to follow as a dog.
