Updated Super Bowl XLIII Betting Odds - 11-29-08

November 29 - NFL betting fans have no doubt figured out that the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans are a pretty sure bet and there's little surprise that their dominance makes them the favorites to win Super Bowl XLIII. We take a look at the latest betting odds. (Courtesy of Sportsbook.com.)

The New York Giants are taking the regular season in their stride and are +265 to repeat last season's heroics. The only blip on the radar has been their loss to Cleveland, but their fans will argue that they never switched on in that game.

With five games to go and a two game lead in their division, The Giant look poised for a home based NFC playoff game.

The next closest team in the NFC is also in the NFC East. The up and down Dallas Cowboys are still +1025 to win it all. Dallas is 7-4 and still fighting to make the playoffs.

Most handicappers seem to think that the rest of the contenders will come out of the AFC. The Tennessee Titans (+645) who lost for the first time this past week (against tha Favre inspired  New York Jets) are +645 to win the Super Bowl. They have a a 3 game lead with five to play and it looks unlikely that the Colts have any chance of upstaging them in the AFC South.

Other odds include the Pittsburgh Steelers at +885, Indianapolis Colts at +1065 and the most improved team this season, the New York Jets are at +1215. The New England Patriots look resurgent but are a pretty long shot at +1550. However, if you are looking for a long shot, the San Diego Chargers at +4250 looks interesting, even though  they are 4-7. They are only two games behind Denver in their division and have an easier run in.

Here are the rest of the Super Bowl odds updated after last week's action.

  • New York Giants +265
  • Carolina Panthers +2250
  • Tennesee Titans +645
  • Washington Redskins +3550
  • Pittsburgh Steelers +885
  • Green Bay Packers +3850
  • Dallas Cowboys +1025
  • San Diego Chargers +4050
  • Indianapolis Colts +1065
  • Denver Broncos +4250
  • New York Jets +1215
  • Minnesota Vikings +4250
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1425
  • Chicago Bears +4550
  • New England Patriots +1550
  • Atlanta Falcons +5250
  • Baltimore Ravens +1815
  • Miami Dolphins +8050
  • Arizona Cardinals +1815
  • Philadelphia Eagles +8550
