December 17 - The question of whether US based casinos should be
allowed to run online gaming web sites has again been under the spotlight this
week after an online casino poll conducted by a market research company...
The poll suggests that Americans would much prefer to visit online casinos that
were based locally, and therefore under the jurisdiction of US federal law.
Online gaming operations are currently illegal on US soil and as such the US
government is losing vast sums of potential tax revenue in the process.
Recent market research has revealed that over $10 billion was spent worldwide at
online gaming websites during 2005, which could have amounted to around $1.8
million in revenue for the US government.
Of all people polled, over two thirds said they supported a change to US based
online casinos, while only 3.4 per cent said that they would like to continue
playing at casinos based overseas. Based on the current figures it seems almost
impossible for the US government not to consider making a change to their online
gaming laws sometime soon.

be included in the curriculum of public schools.
