2006/07 Record: 5-11.
2006/07 Verdict: The stats are fascinating for this team because they show that a big reason for that awful 5-11 year was the defense, the weakest in the NFC and ahead of only the Titans in the NFL rankings. The rookie season for Jason Campbell was obviously a big learning curve as the team went 2-5 in his starts, but he performed decently with a 10/6 TD/INT line and a passer rating of 76.5. The defense allowed 24 points or more in 8 of their 16 games, and that is too much for a young QB to overcome, unless that young QB is named Vince Young.
2007/08 Mycapper.com Prediction: UP
The problem with this team last year was the defense, and if that improves this could become a competitive team. That's a big "if" though based on the recent past seasons under Joe Gibbs, and it's tough to see how the defense is going to be that much better. Nevertheless, we feel that Jason Campbell will improve further and that this could be a .500 season for the Redskins, which would be an "up" year following the 5-11 effort last season.
