June 26 - Sunday saw an amazing game at the 2006 World Cup soccer tournament between Portugal and Holland that produced a betting upset as Portugal defied the odds to win, but the game will go down in history for all the wrong reasons. There was incredible bad-blood between the two teams, the ref completely lost control of the players, and a new infamous record for the World Cup was set: the most yellow and red cardsever handed out in a single game.
It's a good thing Holland didn't equalize late in the game to send it to extra time because if these two teams had played for another 30 minutes there would have been no one left on the pitch. As it was they both ended with 9 men on the field, and it should have been less.
