Online Gambling Insider is going to the 2006 World Series Of Poker!
Our poker editor, Marc Weinberg, won a seat to the $10,000 buy-in World
Series of Poker Main Event and will fly to Las Vegas to claim his seat along
with at least 8000 other hopefuls. Marc has played seriously at the highest
levels for the last two years, and he will provide a WSOP news blog from
the best possible perspective - as a player.
Marc plans to play in two or three other WSOP events as well in the lead up to
the Main Event, and his first report from the cavernous Amazon room at the Rio
will be posted on Friday. We will track his progress, and who knows, perhaps the
Insider will return with a fabled bracelet? Stranger things have happened,
although simply finishing in the money in any of these incredibly competitive
events would be a wonderful achievement.
In addition to our poker editor’s blog you can also find the latest WSOP
results, World Series of Poker news , WSOP photos, and exclusive
interviews with some of the top poker players in the world.

At the time I had no idea who knocked me out of the 2006 World Series Of Poker on the first day. I only knew he got very lucky when he put me all-in before the flop with his pocket Kings and then cracked my pocket Aces. Now, with 40 players left in the event I see that he is currently running third, and his name is Rhett Butler...

What do I have in common with Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan? If you answered that all four of us are tied with 10 WSOP bracelets apiece I truly appreciate your intentions, but the correct response is that we all got knocked out of the World Series Of Poker on our first day of play. Thousands of others suffered the same fate but that shouldn`t be our concern here...

An amazing 2138 players crammed in to the Rio today for day 1 of the Main Event. The 2006 WSOP is likely to attract nearly 8800 total entries, and judging by the standard of play I witnessed today many of them are total buffoons when it comes to poker...
